Every idea needs a so called champion, someone who is main responsible for the project and who puts energy in it. This champion does not necessarily have to be the one who came up with the idea but he should at least see the potential and be motivated. The problem when championing some else his idea is that the initial idea won’t be exactly as explained by the innovator. Thus: someone has an idea (ABCDE) and then lets someone else champion it -> The previous experience, way of thinking, connection of patterns etc. is different per person so the champion will more likely to see it as (ABECD). The general conception is the same but the actual interpretation of the idea is different. This could lead to the fact that the innovator won’t agree with the champion’s idea, probably leading to dropping the project due to inconsistencies. It is therefore important to have the innovator work together with the champion. The ability to work within groups: Very handy because groups are generally smarter than individuals. Due to the fact that 90% of our communication is non-verbal, it is important to have face-to-face meetings instead of electronic ones. The IQ of the group is not important regarding the effectiveness of the group, what is important is the communication and the frequency they take turns in conversations.
