Soft launches and employees -
 
# Who knows your company better than the people who work there? Your employees are the greatest resource for new thinking and creative problem solving. In a large and mature company, it is even possible to rotate the staff. So when a front office manager goes to work in the housekeeping department for a weekend, he might see a new way of doing things and might get new ideas for both departments. You should also work with your stakeholders since they need to use the product. When having a new innovative idea, it is wise to run it pass them, even doing a soft launch so that all the cracks in twitches will be taken out.

A soft launch enables the company to try the product on a small group of people before deciding to use it or discard it. You can do this by either using different external stakeholders or company employees.When the data regarding the soft launch of a product or service shows that the idea doesn't work as expected, the company should not just throw the idea away. Small incremental changes can have a big impact on the idea, so when keeping the idea on the table, incremental changes might lead to a successful idea. When incremental changes are made and soft launch nr. 2 is deployed, the second set of data can be analyzed. If the data outcome is lower, than you are doing something wrong. When the data is steady, you have an issue. When the data is going up and it is interesting enough, more resources can be diploid to the idea. Wait as long as you can to kill your ideas because they might be the best ones you will ever have. The online community/ platform as mentioned before, is a breeding ground for new changes and ideas, derived from existing company ideas.

When a company decides to become innovative, long time employees might resist because they are used to doing something a certain way. How to tackle this as a manager? Communicate with the employees and maintain a certain amount of control. The idea is not that they have total and utter freedom, but they have more leeway. Another way is to use an innovative manager as explained before so that he can guide the process and help where necessary.
